In this dream feature on Steve Wright In The Afternoon on BBC Radio 2, Steve, Janey and I make sense of some more of your wonderful dreams. The dreams we explored in the show included…

Hi Ian,
I have a recurring dream which occurs just as I’m drifting off to sleep – I dream that I have forgotten to take my medication. It’s so vivid that I get up and go to the bathroom cabinet to find it. I then realise that there is no medication I should have taken. The intensity of it makes me feel anxious and interestingly my sister, who lives in the USA, has the exact same recurring dream.
Why does this Happen and can it be explained?

Hi Ian, Steve and team,
I very often have a dream where I am looking up at the sky, it can be either day time or night time, there are a lot of clouds, then all of a sudden the clouds clear and there are hundreds of aeroplanes and aircraft up in the air.
Sometimes they are really low.
Sometimes I am by the seaside and other times I will be up a mountain or even standing in a field next to my childhood home.
The dream always leaves me feeling scared and out of sorts. It is not a pleasant feeling and yet nothing bad ever happens in it.

Hi Ian,
I have a recurring dream about toilets. I’m in a large area of public toilets but I can’t use any of them because they’re either overflowing, have no doors, the wall of the cubicle doesn’t reach the end or the toilet is unsuitable for sitting on. My friend Gail has exactly the same dreams – I wonder if this is a common dream for women?

Hi Ian,
For over 30 years, I’ve been dreaming a variation of a dream where I’d be looking for a toilet to use. At first all the toilets would be broken or have no door so I couldn’t use them.
As I got older the dream continued, but whenever I thought I’d finally found a toilet it would turn out to be broken, blocked, in the middle of a room or not connected at all.
I would really like to know what this means as I am still having the dream and the embarrassment of ‘using the toilet’ in a room full of people is still with me when I wake up!

Hi Ian,
I had a very strange dream a few nights ago:
I was getting married the next day, and I found myself in a remote location with my mum and sister, panicking as I didn’t have a wedding dress or venue sorted. We were trying to find somewhere to get a dress and decide where to hold the wedding and we saw what looked like a castle. When we walked inside, it was a horror house (dark, Halloween decor, monsters etc…) and one of the monsters captured my mum – my sister and I had to pull her out.
I can’t remember much else but I have no idea where it came from, very random! I’m not even engaged!

Hi Ian,
I often dream about having long, almost never-ending strings of hair which I can feel in my throat and pull out of my mouth, like a giant hair ball. I pull and pull and eventually get to the end and feel so relieved!

Hi Ian,
I always dream that I’m pulling something like stringy glue out of my mouth – it seems to go on forever, it sometimes breaks, but I open my mouth and keep pulling.
Most of the time I clear whatever it is, but last night I couldn’t clear it, and it felt like something was stuck in my throat – this dream always wakes me up and I’m very confused by it when I wake.
