FAR AWAY PLACES AND FEAR OF FLYING DREAM

Dream

Hello Professor Wallace, can you please tell me why I always have the same terrifying dream about taking off in an aircraft and then something goes wrong.  These dreams have made me frightened of flying.  I do still fly but why do I always have the same scenario,  also I dream I am going to Australia but never get there. I have lived in Australia. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Meaning

When we dream of taking off in an aeroplane, we are usually reflecting on a project or an idea in waking life that we are trying to get off the ground. Although you manage to launch the plan or idea, something unexpected always happens. The unexpected will always happen to any plan, no matter how well we plan ahead, so we just have to allow for that. In waking life, it can be useful to see unexpected challenges as opportunities rather than insurmountable difficulties. Sometimes we just have to let go and see what happens.

In your dream, Australia symbolises a far away place where some of your dreams may come true, and this is reflecting your aspirations in waking life where fulfilment and contentment sometimes seem very far away. Instead of launching into flights of fancy, try standing in a tranquil place, such as a park, or a forest, and feel your feet touching the ground and how firm that contact is. Close your eyes and sense what direction you want to take in life and turn around until you are facing that way. Think what is the first practical step you need to take to start the journey and then physically take that step. Open your eyes and start striding along your chosen path in life.
